METEOROLOGICAL SOCIETY OF NZ CONFERENCES
The Meteorological Society of New Zealand is an independent group of weather enthusiasts whose aim is to encourage an interest in the atmosphere, weather and climate as related to the New Zealand region. To this end, the Society runs a web site, arranges regular public meetings, publishes a quarterly newsletter and an annual journal and organises an annual conference reporting on the latest developments in meteorology.
Annual Conference
The Meteorological Society holds an annual conference for the purpose of sharing meteorological information, new developments and views. Conferences have been held since the formation of the Society in 1979 and are usually held in one of the main centers in NZ and often follow a general theme. The Societies AGM is traditionally held in conjunction with each conference and the Media Awards are presented at the same time.To read more about the history of MetSoc conferences click here.
