METEOROLOGICAL SOCIETY OF NZ SEMINARS
Background
The Meteorological Society of New Zealand is an independent group of weather enthusiasts with whose aim is to encourage an interest in the atmosphere, weather and climate as related to the New Zealand region.In accordance with this aim the Society runs a web site, publishes a quarterly newsletter and an annual journal and organises an annual conference reporting on the latest developments in meteorology.
The Society also arranges public meetings and seminars in the main centers throughout the year, notified via its Internet e-groups.
MetSoc Seminars
The Society seminars, lectures and talks cover a wide spectrum of interesting meteorological subjects. These include results of recent and ongoing research, general interest topics such as historical and recent severe weather events, contentious issues such as global warming and climate change. In fact, topics may include just about anything related to the atmosphere.These presentations are usually given by meteorologists, weather forecasters, climatologist and other experts in their field inluding visiting overseas guests.
